WHEN A COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER AND INCLUDES EVERYONE
Thank you to everyone that came to our First Inclusive Kids Night At The Clayhole event on June 26, 2019. We had over 400 kids, 20 volunteers, 10 different games, etc. A sense of belonging was certainly built and everyone was welcome, thanks to the accommodations provided at every game and stations. A win-win event that we plan on repeating again! CHARTER BANK CHASKA SUPPORTS LOCAL ARTIST WITH AUTISM
It was without hesitation that Charter Bank Chaska welcomed the opportunity to display the paintings of a Chaska artist with autism from Jan 14th - 31st. This is a great example of how our Chaska community can support all of its members, including those with disabilities. The purpose of the exhibit is to help change the stigma and break stereotypes that surround those with autism. People with autism have many talents and the hope is that the world will start appreciating them. |
Chaska to build public golf course that welcomes everyone(Par 30 Renovation)
Chaska is planning to build a small public golf course that will be welcoming to just about anyone — golfers with disabilities, newbie golfers, wannabe golfers, kid golfers, lower-income golfers and even skilled, seasoned golfers. The new course will be on the site of Chaska Par 30, a standard nine-hole course operated by the city of Chaska. Construction of the renovated course, also called Chaska Par 30, is scheduled to begin fall of 2020, with opening expected in summer 2022. www.startribune.com/chaska-to-build-public-golf-course-that-welcomes-everyone/560832822/ CHANHASSEN HIGH SCHOOL FORMS UNIFIED ALLIANCE CLUB
The club was created during the 2017-2018 school year by a freshman student. The purpose of the club is to promote more inclusivity throughout Chanhassen High School, and provide a simple outlet for people with and without disabilities to interact and do fun activities together. The name "Unified Alliance" emphasizes the goal of making everyone feel welcome and loved. The club is doing great and it is currently thinking about expanding a bit to broaden its reach to more people at the school. "One of our favorite activities to do are puzzles, games, movies, and sports. We also went on a mini field trip to a llama farm earlier this year and hope to do it again in the spring when it is a bit warmer!" said founder. |
