ICONIC is a group of public, non-profit and private organizations focused on building inclusive communities in Carver County. Formed in June, 2016, ICONIC's mission is to build and strengthen a genuine inclusive community that embraces equal opportunities and a sense of belonging for people of all ages and abilities.

ICONIC is looking to increase the eligibility, recruitment and selection of individuals with disabilities bearing in mind their personal interests, individual strengths and job market demands. We are looking to improve emotional and financial independence by enabling them to attain jobs of similar conditions than those of their peers.

Carver County Vocational Rehabilitation Services (P: 952-368-7007)
Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) provides services such as counseling, job placement, job coaching, training, supports that empower Minnesotans with disabilities to achieve their goals for competitive, integrated employment and career development. VRS consists of several distinct programs and projects, the cornerstone of which is the public Vocational Rehabilitation program. The goal is to help people with disabilities get and keep a job in a competitive, integrated setting, to live more independently, to live close to their families and friends, and to participate in community life. In-school and Out of school Youth Programs (ESY/OSY) the Youth Programs provides summer and year-round work experience and academic enrichment activities. The summer youth program serves low-income targeted youth who are 14-24 years old. Eligibility is complicated and the federal government now requires most funding to be spent on Out-of-School Youth. Most of the recruitment for the Youth Program is done in the spring for summer employment. Applications are now available until April 26, 2019 here . Scroll towards the bottom under the orange Employment Programs heading, and you will see In-School youth and Out of school Youth Applications – please be sure youth fill out the correct application based on their age and school status!

Microsoft Autism Hiring Program the Microsoft Campus in Fargo is looking to VR to recruit candidates for their Autism Hiring Program. The candidates would be going for Support Engineers & Associate Premier Field Engineers. The attachment has the links with the full job descriptions. These positions do require a fair amount of customer contact. The goal of this program is to attract talent and build an inclusive approach to support individuals on the autism spectrum that will contribute to the way we work as a company in building and servicing our products.
